The car is now all set (except cleaning) for a trip back to Maine, even though that won't be happening for a few weeks, and today I shopped for a few new essentials for the new house, including a kitchen trash can. How exciting is that??? And of course, doormats, to help alleviate the tracking in of "stuff". This was all enough to exhaust me--big store, having to go back and forth to pick up things I forgot, etc. Exercise.
I did not go to new house today. We've been having rain off and on, and I did not feel like carrying stuff in, in the rain, and dirtying up the floors with wet feet. Plus, I had those other things to do and that was enough. As it is, I had potato chips and Fanta for lunch. Tomorrow will be soon enough to take a load of stuff down. Forgot to check on koi food. Shoot.
Speaking of the rain, the clouds have been really interesting today, and because of the open vistas, I could see it raining down across the valley. Lots of other stuff to do, like get mail forwarded to the new address. Details, details.

I've been wondering -- will the koi need feeding while you are back in Maine? I know they are just carp, deep down in the taxonomy, and carp can make a living off anything . . .
Apparently they pretty much survive off the algae in the pool whether someone is there to take care of them or not.
Kinda figured that was the case. I mean, carp . . .
I think Lynn Flewelling lost some koi to an itinerant heron. Don't know how likely that is in the deep desert.
There are LOTS of doves in the neighborhood and the occasional hawk, but there have been no casualties thus far.
