Gorgeous day here, today, mid-60s, with a little breeze. MB, dog, and I headed downtown for the market, which was, as I expected, much smaller on a Wednesday, with fewer people in attendance. In a way, it was nice, because you could see certain items more than when there are so many booths and shoppers. We both got a cup of Beck's coffee (I was impressed she remembered me after the few times I've been there) and looked over the available wares. From there, to the co-op, as MB decided she was going to cook me a real meal tonight. Then I tried my navigational skills again to get into Mesilla, without having looked at a map beforehand, guessing which streets joined with which streets. You see, I was going there from a new direction. We got there, eventually. Probably would have gotten there sooner had I known what I was doing. Ate lunch out on the patio at Andeles, and then we went to the new house to await the lady from Merry Maids for my consultation. No one had taken the laundry basket full of towels yet. The seller's agent had not left me another unpleasant letter. The koi seemed content.
MB and I hung out in the front courtyard sunning ourselves, she on her computer, me with my eyes closed, and the sound of the koi's waterfall burbling. Dog waited for something more exciting to happen. The Merry Maids lady came and looked around and consulted. She really seemed to like the house. She asked if my "friend" was also moving in. I said no, she was just visiting. I did not add that MB's husband might be annoyed if his spousal unit did not return home. In any case, the Merry Maids will come and do a good cleaning of the house to, as I've said elsewhere, remove the previous owner's accumulation of cooties. We then returned to the rental house and Skyped with writing group, and then Mel prepared a fabulous chicken and mushroom dish, with roasted veggies and a salad. Now we're just hanging out listening to soft music and looking at our computers.
I think tomorrow will be a quieter day. I hit a wall of exhaustion today, and she's got a cold, so I think taking it easy for a while is called for. At 4:30 we shall meet C&D at the new house for the smudge ceremony (and champagne), and then proceed to dinner in Mesilla afterwards.
Soon to bed.

Smudging -- sweetgrass or sage? Or something else?
Probably sage, but that is up to she who is conducting the ceremony.
